Creative and Performing Arts

Creative and performing arts form an integral component of the Dubbo College curriculum, with drama, music, dance, photography, digital media, and visual arts all available for study.

The College organises dramatic, dance and musical performances at different times, with students able to showcase their craft in front of a school audience, as well as making public appearances.

The College creative and performing arts faculty is heavily involved with the City of Dubbo Eisteddfod, with a musical, dance and dramatic performances often receiving accolades. Special creative and performing arts nights are held regularly at each campus, with students honing their performance skills in music, dance, drama and visual arts.

Students also participate in College band activities throughout the year and play a critical role in school assemblies and community events. Band members and vocalists have opportunities to attend band camp, as well as taking part in international events such as the West of the Divide Band tour of Europe.

Campus activities see students taking part in beautification activities such as the cross-college mural team, setting up photo booths for campus events, as well as getting involved in community activities like Waste to Art. Community activities have also involved students attending aged care facilities to draw portraits of residents, with these portraits then beautifully wrapped and gifted to the aged care patients during a follow-up visit.
