Students and staff from the Dubbo College Clontarf Academies gathered at South Dubbo oval this morning for a training session with 11 executives from Clontarf partner Kellogg.
Once each term Clontarf students representing South, Delroy and Senior Campuses complement their regular training regime by gathering together in the early morning for super-training, followed by breakfast.
Clontarf Academy regional manager Ryan Woolfe said most of these events directly involved business partners of Clontarf, of which there were more than 80.
"This week we have 11 senior executives from Kellogg with us and they began their tour at Burrendong Dam on Monday night with the boys from the Clontarf Academy at Canobolas Rural Technology High School in Orange," Mr Woolfe said.
"They then spent yesterday in Dubbo and undertook an "amazing race" around Taronga Western Plains Zoo, using a specially developed phone app, which had them performing all kinds of antics.
"Last night the group had dinner on the banks of the Macquarie with a group of alumni and this morning they have been involved in our super-training at South Dubbo oval.
"They will head to our Coonamble academy for lunch today, before returning to Orange tonight."
Kellogg managing director Belinda Tumbers said the week of activities in the region added an important dimension to the lives of staff.
"It's important to our professional and personal lives because it teaches us about resilience and leadership and gives us a new perspective on life," she said.
"Sometimes it's easy to lose sight of what's important in life and trips like this one help us recognise how vital it is to get the basics right.
"Our founder, WK Kellogg, was a philanthropic man and one of the pillars of his company is to feed people in need.
"Some of these boys are absolutely amazing and as executives of Kellogg we feel very privileged to spend time in their company.
"Kelloggs has been a national partner of Clontarf for three years and we provide breakfast cereal and financial support to academies throughout Australia.
"Every so often we try to get out and spend time with the boys and this is the second trip we have completed, the first being to Alice Springs last year.
"Clontarf Academy goals really do fit very well with the corporate values and philanthropic strategy of our company."
