Dubbo College has initiated a specialised school holiday tutoring program for Year 12 students who will undertake their HSC trials in three weeks.
The timing of the new program is a first for the College, which already runs an annual tutoring program during the Spring holidays just prior to the HSC.
Year 12 students like 17-year-old Ashlee Finch have been making the most of the tutoring opportunity, scheduled during both weeks of the current school break.
"This really is a great chance to engage with our teachers, get more information and examine the finer points of the syllabus," Ashlee said.
"To know that our teachers are coming in and providing us with strong support adds motivation to our study program.
"I have been able to take advantage of the tutoring in between work commitments and I think it will give me an advantage when it comes to the trials."
Senior Campus deputy principal Marisha Blanco said the program included tutorials in all faculties and required significant input from many teachers.
She said the initiative was strongly supported by students and staff of the College.
Executive principal of Dubbo College Stacey Exner said the school was focused on creating opportunities for students to ensure future success.
"Setting up the HSC workshops has enabled students to extend themselves so they will be able to achieve the best results in the upcoming trials," she said.
"We really are most thankful to the teaching staff for their time and commitment in providing this support to our students."
